Is this a dream?

Am lying in a hammock under a warm spring breeze, or by a fireplace sleeping with the heat upon me?
Am I swinging from side to side, or skiing down a mountainside?

I feel the warmth filling the air, with a soft breeze everywhere, birds are singing a sweet song, while people are talking and carrying on.

My mind drifts off to some familiar places where children are playing, with smiles on their faces.

They are running around with no care in their minds, except for playing and having a good time.

The birds are chirping and flying around, while others are sitting on the ground.

They are happy to see everyone having fun, and feel the warmth of the sun.

I look towards the sky and see clouds pass by, and I start to wonder why?

Why do these clouds have to come by, now everyone is saying goodbye.

Goodbye to the fun, and the warmth of the sun. Goodbye to the birds in the air, and the children everywhere.

I now feel a different breeze. The worm spring breeze has turned to cold, and a chill has come upon my soul.

Drops of rain have begun to fall, as people run to hide from it all. They run to their homes, and cars, leaving behind memories and scars.

My body awakes from this place, but strange looks come on my face. Was this a dream or was I transported to a make believe place?

Health Care

I read an article this morning that made me shake my head that,  “Contra Costa County” is allowing funds to be used for undocumented adults to have free health care. But they can’t find the money to have decent fire protection for East Contra Costa County.

This makes me wonder about our Supervisors and elected officialsThere are people in Contra Costa County who cannot afford the high health care prices for their family, who work for minimum wage that the county offers to support a wife and kids but be an illegal undocumented adult, and we will give you free health care. What’s next, free housing? Free cars?

Where do we draw the line and say enough is enough?
Has this gone too far where they are more important than the citizens that have a right to live here, who pay taxes, and are part of their community.
It needs to stop. Let’s take care of our own citizens first and make sure the counties have adequate fire, and first responders protection; take care of our homeless, our poor, our sick and mentally ill citizens. Then IF there is any money left over, we can help the rest.

East Contra Costa County is suffering with “LACK” of fire protection as they have closed two major fire stations and that leaves East Contra Costa in a potential crisis
IF we should have a major emergency that requires all fire stations attention, or have all stations tied up on different calls, we have to depend on other resources to help cover calls.

We are told they closed the stations due to lack of funding. How can there be no funding to keep our fire stations open, but funding to allow health care to undocumented adults? Is this fair? I think not. What do you think?

I think we need to do something to let our elected officials know how we feel.  Let's start a petition and let our voices be heard in a peaceful protest. This has to stop now before it gets out of hand. We can’t sit and do nothing, and hope it goes away, because it won't. We need to elect officials who care about their citizens in this amazing county, and who are willing to do something to improve what is now a disaster in progress.

For those who wear a badge

What is a police officer?

A police officer is someone who is sworn to protect and serve the citizens of their city, to answer the calls of help, and remove citizens who don’t follow the law. But here lately this statement has had a different meaning, as the officers who protect us, can no longer protect themselves. And we are losing too many offers here lately.

Too many officers are being shot or killed for doing their job, for protecting their community from harm's way. It seems like I’m hearing about officers who are getting shot for just being on the job. Is this what society has come to? Where the protect and serve can no longer protect and serve?   Where the gangs run the city, and ruin lives?

Why fear the gangs. Aren’t we stronger than that; isn’t our motto “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”?

Let’s hide in our homes, lock the doors, and pretend that everything will be Ok. It’s like the saying; “sweep the dirt under the rug, and the dirt is gone”
We can’t stop the shootings or violence in the streets, if we all hide in our homes and do nothing about it
“ We are only strong as we are united, and week as week are divided.

So let’s stand strong together and fight back, We all need to help out our sworn law officials, as they are stretched to thin too be everywhere, we need to be their eyes and ears, stand next to them, and be their bodyguard, as they fight every day, and put their lives on the line to keep us safe.
We can no longer hide and hope everything goes away. With today’s culture, and economy people are angry and are taking their frustrations out on innocent people. Unfortunately these people are the people who are trying their best to keep us safe.
There is no easy solution to this problem. As time goes on, violence will increase if the economy continues, and more and more people are laid off, or unemployed, and companies are closing their doors.

Here’s a thought, why not let the gangs patrol the streets. That way they will shoot each other? Problem solved.
OR IS IT??

This is in memory of Sgt. Scott Lunger.

When you woke up that morning, the day came with out a warning.
You tried to pull over a stolen bike, but the rider decided to take your life.

Now your community and friends gather around to say one last goodbye as they watch your casket drive by. They line streets with flags and tears, and recall their memories of you throughout the years.

Now family and close friends are waiting around as your casket is lowered into the ground. Why did he shoot him they say, and they cry and walk away.

You were too young to go, Why you where taken we don’t know. We would like to think it was your time to go.

Your family will be ok. In time their pain will go away. They will have friends they never knew they had, to help everyone through and this makes them glad. To know there are people who understand and willing to lend a helping hand, and to know that they are not alone while going thorough the grieving zone.

You where taken too soon form this place. Guess heaven needed to see your smiling face. We will miss you down here every day, but as time goes by we all will be ok.

This is in memory of Sergeant Scott Lunger. May you rest in peace.

Summer fun

I have been writing about some deep issues the past few essays, so I decided today to write about something positive and not so deep.
As I look,  I can see trees blowing a gentle breeze; blue sky; and feel  a warm breeze from an open window.   Families eating out at a local restaurant, the sound of a baseball hitting a bat, children running around laughing.   Makes me stop and think: “Yep it’s definitely summertime where camping is a tradition and S’mores are a must. Where life is easy and laid back, you put your worries to the side and enjoy the day.

Yep it’s summertime, where a trip to the local fair means eating fried candy bars and junk food, then going on a roller coaster being turned upside down and twisted from side to side, and hope what you just ate does not do the same.

Sitting down on a field with all of your family and friends to watch some amazing fireworks and thinking nothing can be better than this.  As you scan that field and see happy faces on everyone, a smile comes across your face, and you let out a sigh, and realize that despite what’s going on around in your life now, life is good and you never want to forget this feeling.

As the “Grand Finale” displays it’s glory, and you start packing up your family, saying  goodbye for now to your cousins and other relatives, and head home.   Your family takes a well-deserved nap on the way back. You watch some more fireworks, look at your family and realize that no matter what you never want to lose this feeling.

Yep it’s summer time where the living is easy.

Free speech mean to you?

What does Free Speech mean to you?

According to the First Amendment written in 1791,it guarantees freedoms concerning Religion, Expression, Assembly, and the Right to Petition.
It also states; that it guarantees Freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. NOWHERE in this Amendment did I read, you don’t have a right to be heard or be heard.

I read an article that a local parent that had her first Amendment taken away and was not able to voice her concerns to the local city counsel. She was shut down after three min of speaking and was told to leave. As I was watching this video, I noticed a light that was turning different colors as a timer to those who are speaking to the counsel. I found this strange and begin to wonder how many other people’s voices have been shut down when this light goes from go to stop.

This parent was simply trying to have the city pay for speed bumps down her street, as her son was killed by a young man who decided to do a side show, hit her son, and dragging him under the car. Her son died from the wounds.

IS this really too much to ask for? I think not, but since the parent was shut down, the family has installed speed bumps them selves to slow down traffic, and prevent this from occurring again having another family lose a family member do to senseless people doing sideshows.  Which the city will take down as soon as they realize what the family has done, strange the city can pay someone to take them down, but not put them up.

Why do we need a city counsel when we have to take matters into our own hands? Isn’t their elected duty to support the citizens of their city?  How many people have to die before something is done to stop all of this? I know our local police department is stretched thin, and cannot respond to every call. But when is it ENOUGH? When do we say, “IVE had enough, and do something about all of this? When do we put our foot down and say “NO MORE” my time is not over stand our ground and let our voices be heard?
Weather in a peaceful protest or a city meeting, we can no longer sit back and do nothing, this city is being run by people who just don’t care, and we need to take action to take it back.

Flood

Row, row your boat gently down the hall, merely, merely, life is not a ball.
I woke in the morning to a squishy sound, what there’s water all around.
My sox are wet; my feet aren’t dry and cant stop and wonder why?
The water is coming from the ceiling this is a familiar feeling.
This happened once some time a go, which cost this place a lot of dough.
My home for now is a hotel room, so I don’t have to smell the fumes.
The maids make up this place, and I come to with a happy face.
I don’t have to cook or clean, I could get used to this its so serene.
It feels like I’m on vacation, this is such a temptation.
For now this will work, as the people clean up the dirt.
My place smells bad, and I’m really glad that fans are around drying up the air and ground.
I can’t wait to go back home, and be back in my zone.
But I can’t stop and wonder, is this place going under?
With water all around, on the wall, ceiling and the ground, should I rent a boat to float around, in case the water should come falling down?

To young to have a child,

A 19-year gave birth in the bathroom the other day, and tired to throw her baby away.
She had the baby on the bathroom floor, and treated it like it was a chore. I really don’t know what to think, as she placed it in a garbage bag under the sink. There are people who would have adopted this baby; I think this person is kind of crazy.
The police found the baby safe and sound, in the garbage bag on the ground.
She did not want anyone to see her show, and her family did not know,
The secret hiding deep inside, that she desperately tried to hide.  She was afraid her family telling her to give it up, but she kind of ran out of luck. She will spend time in jail; with out any sort of bail .She was charged with child neglect, 6 months after the effect. There are a lot of people all around, who would love the baby on the ground. Instead of throwing it away, like people throw thrash out every day. I’m going to end this quick, the more I think of it makes me sick, that there are people all around throwing baby’s on the ground. They don’t think about what to say, they just throw a human life away. The baby more than likely will be placed in foster care, where really is a place where people don’t care. I hope the baby finds a place where she safe and snug, and a home where she can find some love.

Letter to the Mayor of Antioch

Mr. Mayor I hate to say you about to have a crummy day. You need to take a walk outside, and not in your office where you sit and hide. There are people shooting in your streets, and these are the people you must meet. When you sit in your comfy office shell, while the city that you know of is gone to hell. You say the crime is going down, then why do I see dead bodies on the ground. You sit in your office safe and sound, when there are people dying all around. Yes Mr. Mayor your going to have a crummy day, as we all are going to take your job away. You need vanish into thin air, and let those take over who really care. You tried to give it your best shot, but really that didn’t help a lot. Your neighbors want to go outside, not be in there homes where they have to hide. We also want to walk the streets and not be scared of whom we meet. There shooting people all around, all you have to do is look on the ground. You will see a drawing on the ground, where someone was shot and fallen down. This was someone’s family member, which was taken away as they sit and cry at a shallow grave. The shooters don’t care who they shoot, as long as they get the golden loot. We need to take our city back, and stop this shooting attack. We trusted that you knew what you where doing, now all we think is snoozing. Mr. Mayor please wake up, while you city, as you know it has run out of luck.
I guess what I’m trying to say, is please Mr. Mayor, just go away. Our city is over run by thugs, I think we could all use a great big hug. You can’t cover up the problem as its wont go away, MR. Mayor the problem is here to stay .My question for you Dear MR. Mayor, what are we going to do about this scare? We can’t sweep the problem under a rug; we need to remove all the thugs. My question for you Dear MR. Mayor we need to know if you really care??
